Nikyo (二教)

Ni: dos.
KyoKyo: form, model, teaching, principle.

Nikyo, the second principle, is a technique that executes a dislocation applied to the wrist and elbow, rotating both in opposite directions. This rotation, contrary to the natural movement of the arm, can cause intense pain and injury if executed violently.

Especially if you're new to nikyo training, it can be a painful technique. Tori should therefore apply pressure gradually, emphasizing control and precision over strength. As uke, an effective option is to join in with the direction in which the technique is being applied, trying to control the fear of pain to avoid tension, and remaining as relaxed as possible.
